Gregor Jansen is an art historian and Head of the ZKM | Museum of Contemporary Art Karlsruhe in Germany. Curator of numerous exhibitions on contemporary art, his most recent being "Imagination Becomes Reality. On the Expanded Concept of Painting", “totalstadt. beijing case”, which was the concluding presentation of a four-month collaborative project involving Chinese and German artists focusing on the cultural aspects of high-speed urbanization in China. Also in 2005 he curated together with Peter Weibel "light art from artifical light", an encyclopaedic exhibition on the
Jansen is also a lecturer at the State Academy of Design in Karlsruhe. Has written extensively on modern and contemporary art, and his articles have appeared in magazines such as springerin, blitzreview, Kunst-Bulletin, and Parkett.
